Amendments to the Canada Grain Act were introduced in Parliament on December 9, 2014 to modernize the organizations and legislation that support the Canadian grain sector.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the office of Minister Gerry Ritz are the primary source of information on the legislative process, the proposed amendments and policy changes.

While Bill C-48 is being considered by Parliament, the Canadian Grain Commission will continue to operate under the existing provisions of the Canada Grain Act and Regulations.

We will communicate with our stakeholders during the legislative process.
